koh amar Adonai al-sheloshah pishe mo'av ve'al-arba'ah lo ashivennu al-sorfo atsmot melekh-edom lassid

Thus said GOD: For three transgressions of Moab, For four, I will not revoke the decree: Because he burned the bones Of the king of Edom to lime.

veshillakhti-esh bemo'av ve'okhlah armenot haqqeriyyot umet besha'on mo'av bitru'ah beqol shofar

I will send down fire upon Moab, And it shall devour the fortresses of Kerioth. And Moab shall die in tumult, Amid shouting and the blare of horns;

vehikhratti shofet miqqirbah vekhol-sareha eherog immo amar Adonai

I will wipe out the ruler from within her And slay all her officials along with him —said GOD.

koh amar Adonai al-sheloshah pishe yehudah ve'al-arba'ah lo ashivennu al-mo'osam et-torat Adonai vekhuqqayw lo shamaru vayyatum kizvehem asher-halekhu avotam akharehem

Thus said GOD: For three transgressions of Judah, For four, I will not revoke the decree: Because they have spurned the Teaching of GOD And have not observed divine laws; They are beguiled by the delusions After which their ancestors walked.

veshillakhti esh bihudah ve'okhlah armenot yerushalai͏m

I will send down fire upon Judah, And it shall devour the fortresses of Jerusalem.

koh amar Adonai al-sheloshah pishe yisra'el ve'al-arba'ah lo ashivennu al-mikhram bakkesef tsaddiq ve'evyon ba'avur na'alayim

Thus said GOD: For three transgressions of Israel, For four, I will not revoke the decree: Because they have sold for silver Those whose cause was just, And the needy for a pair of sandals.

hasho'afim al-afar-erets berosh dallim vederekh anavim yattu ve'ish ve'aviv yelekhu el-hanna'arah lema'an khallel et-shem qodshi

[Ah,] you who trample the heads of the poor Into the dust of the ground, And make the humble walk a twisted course! Father and son go to the same woman, And thereby profane My holy name.

ve'al-begadim khavulim yattu etsel kol-mizbeakh veyen anushim yishtu bet elohehem

They recline by every altar On garments taken in pledge, And drink in the House of their God Wine bought with fines they imposed.

ve'anokhi hishmadti et-ha'emori mippenehem asher kegovah arazim govho vekhason hu ka'allonim va'ashmid piryo mimma'al veshorashayw mittakhat

Yet I Destroyed the Amorite before them, Whose stature was like the cedar’s And who was stout as the oak, Destroying his boughs above And his trunk below!

ve'anokhi he'eleti etkhem me'erets mitsrayim va'olekh etkhem bammidbar arba'im shanah lareshet et-erets ha'emori

And I Brought you up from the land of Egypt And led you through the wilderness forty years, To possess the land of the Amorite!

va'aqim mibbenekhem linvi'im umibbakhurekhem linzirim ha'af en-zot bene yisra'el ne'um-Adonai

And I raised up prophets from among your sons And nazirites from among your young men. Is that not so, O people of Israel? —says GOD.

vattashqu et-hannezirim yayin ve'al-hannevi'im tsivvitem lemor lo tinnave'u

But you made the nazirites drink wine And ordered the prophets not to prophesy.

hinneh anokhi me'iq takhtekhem ka'asher ta'iq ha'agalah hamele'ah lah amir

Ah, I will slow your movements As a wagon is slowed When it is full of cut grain.

ve'avad manos miqqal vekhazaq lo-ye'ammets kokho vegibbor lo-yemallet nafsho

Flight shall fail the swift, The strong shall find no strength, And the warrior shall not save his life.

vetofes haqqeshet lo ya'amod veqal beraglayw lo yemallet verokhev hassus lo yemallet nafsho

The archer shall not hold his ground, And the fleet-footed shall not escape, Nor the horseman save his life.

ve'ammits libbo baggibborim arom yanus bayyom-hahu ne'um-Adonai

Even the most stouthearted warrior Shall run away unarmed that day —declares GOD.
