Ezekiel 30

vayehi devar-Adonai elay lemor

The word of GOD came to me:

ben-adam hinnave ve'amarta koh amar adonay Elohim helilu hah layyom

O mortal, prophesy and say: Thus said the Sovereign GOD: Wail, alas for the day!

ki-qarov yom veqarov yom la-Adonai yom anan et goyim yihyeh

For a day is near; A day of GOD is near. It will be a day of cloud, An hour of [invading] nations.

uva'ah kherev bemitsrayim vehayetah khalkhalah bekhush binfol khalal bemitsrayim velaqekhu hamonah venehersu yesodoteha

A sword shall pierce Egypt, And Cush shall be seized with trembling, When the slain fall in Egypt And her wealth is seized And her foundations are overthrown.

kush ufut velud vekhol-ha'erev vekhuv uvene erets habberit ittam bakherev yippolu

Cush, Put, and Lud, and all the mixed populations, and Cub, and the inhabitants of the allied countries shall fall by the sword with them.

koh amar Adonai venafelu somekhe mitsrayim veyarad ge'on uzzah mimmigdol seveneh bakherev yippelu-vah ne'um adonay Elohim

Thus said GOD: Those who support Egypt shall fall, And her proud strength shall sink; There they shall fall by the sword, From Migdol to Syene —declares the Sovereign GOD.

venashammu betokh aratsot neshammot ve'arayw betokh-arim nakharavot tihyenah

They shall be the most desolate of desolate lands, and her cities shall be the most ruined of cities,

veyade'u ki-ani Adonai betitti-esh bemitsrayim venishberu kol-ozereha

when I set fire to Egypt and all who help her are broken. Thus they shall know that I am GOD.

bayyom hahu yetse'u malakhim millefanay batsim lehakharid et-kush betakh vehayetah khalkhalah vahem beyom mitsrayim ki hinneh ba'ah

On that day, messengers shall set out at My bidding to strike terror into confident Cush. And they shall be seized with trembling on Egypt’s day [of doom]—for it is at hand.

koh amar adonay Elohim vehishbatti et-hamon mitsrayim beyad nevukhadretsar melekh-bavel

Thus said the Sovereign GOD: I will put an end to the wealth of Egypt through King Nebuchadrezzar of Babylon.

hu ve'ammo itto aritse goyim muva'im leshakhet ha'arets veheriqu kharvotam al-mitsrayim umale'u et-ha'arets khalal

He, together with his troops, the most ruthless of the nations, shall be brought to ravage the land. And they shall unsheathe the sword against Egypt and fill the land with the slain.

venatatti ye'orim khoravah umakharti et-ha'arets beyad-ra'im vahashimmoti erets umelo'ah beyad-zarim ani Adonai dibbarti

I will turn the channels into dry ground, and I will deliver the land into the hands of evildoers. I will lay waste the land and everything in it by the hands of strangers. I, GOD, have spoken.

koh-amar adonay Elohim veha'avadti gillulim vehishbatti elilim minnof venasi me'erets-mitsrayim lo yihyeh-od venatatti yirah be'erets mitsrayim

Thus said the Sovereign GOD: I will destroy the fetishes and make an end of the idols in Noph; and no longer shall there be a prince in the land of Egypt; and I will strike the land of Egypt with fear.

vahashimmoti et-patros venatatti esh betso'an ve'asiti shefatim beno

I will lay Pathros waste, I will set fire to Zoan, and I will execute judgment on No.

veshafakhti khamati al-sin ma'oz mitsrayim vehikhratti et-hamon no

I will pour out my anger upon Sin, the stronghold of Egypt, and I will destroy the wealth of No.

venatatti esh bemitsrayim khul (tkhyl) [takhul] sin veno tihyeh lehibbaqea venof tsare yomam

I will set fire to Egypt; Sin shall writhe in anguish and No shall be torn apart; and Noph [shall face] adversaries in broad daylight.

bakhure aven ufi-veset bakherev yippolu vehennah bashevi telakhnah

The young men of Aven and Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword, and those [towns] shall go into captivity.

uvitkhafnekhes khasakh hayyom beshivri-sham et-motot mitsrayim venishbat-bah ge'on uzzah hi anan yekhassennah uvenoteha bashevi telakhnah

In Tehaphnehes daylight shall be withheld, when I break there the power of Egypt, and there her proud strength comes to an end. [The city] itself shall be covered with cloud, and its daughter towns shall go into captivity.

ve'asiti shefatim bemitsrayim veyade'u ki-ani Adonai

Thus I will execute judgment on Egypt; And they shall know that I am GOD.

vayehi be'akhat esreh shanah barishon beshivah lakhodesh hayah devar-Adonai elay lemor

In the eleventh year, on the seventh day of the first month, the word of GOD came to me:

ben-adam et-zeroa paroh melekh-mitsrayim shavareti vehinneh lo-khubbeshah latet refu'ot lasum khittul lekhovshah lekhozqah litpos bekharev

O mortal, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; it has not been bound up to be healed nor firmly bandaged to make it strong enough to grasp the sword.

lakhen koh-amar adonay Elohim hinni el-paroh melekh-mitsrayim veshavarti et-zero'otayw et-hakhazaqah ve'et-hannishbaret vehippalti et-hakherev miyyado

Assuredly, thus said the Sovereign GOD: I am going to deal with Pharaoh king of Egypt. I will break his arms, both the sound one and the injured, and make the sword drop from his hand.

vahafitsoti et-mitsrayim baggoyim vezeritim ba'aratsot

I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them throughout the countries.

vekhizzaqti et-zero'ot melekh bavel venatatti et-kharbi beyado veshavarti et-zero'ot paroh vena'aq na'aqot khalal lefanayw

I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put My sword in his hand; and I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he shall groan before him with the groans of one struck down.

vehakhazaqti et-zero'ot melekh bavel uzero'ot paroh tippolenah veyade'u ki-ani Adonai betitti kharbi beyad melekh-bavel venatah otah el-erets mitsrayim

I will make firm the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fail. And they shall know that I am GOD, when I put My sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he lifts it against the land of Egypt.

vahafitsoti et-mitsrayim baggoyim vezeriti otam ba'aratsot veyade'u ki-ani Adonai

I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them throughout the countries. Thus they shall know that I am GOD.
