Ezekiel 32

vayehi bishte esreh shanah bishne-asar khodesh be'ekhad lakhodesh hayah devar-Adonai elay lemor

In the twelfth year, on the first day of the twelfth month, the word of GOD came to me:

ben-adam sa qinah al-paroh melekh-mitsrayim ve'amarta elayw kefir goyim nidmeta ve'attah kattannim bayyammim vattagakh benaharotekha vattidlakh-mayim beraglekha vattirpos naharotam

O mortal, intone a dirge over Pharaoh king of Egypt. Say to him: O great beast among the nations, you are doomed! You are like the dragon in the seas, Thrusting through their streams, Stirring up the water with your feet And muddying their streams!

koh amar adonay Elohim ufarasti alekha et-rishti biqhal ammim rabbim vehe'elukha bekhermi

Thus said the Sovereign GOD: I will cast My net over you In an assembly of many peoples, And you shall be hauled up in My toils.

unetashtikha va'arets al-pene hassadeh atilekha vehishkanti alekha kol-of hashamayim vehisbati mimmekha khayyat kol-ha'arets

And I will fling you to the ground, Hurl you upon the open field. I will cause all the birds of the sky To settle upon you. I will cause the beasts of all the earth To batten on you.

venatatti et-besarekha al-heharim umilleti hagge'ayot ramutekha

I will cast your carcass upon the hills And fill the valleys with your rotting flesh.

vehishqeti erets tsafatekha middamekha el-heharim va'afiqim yimmale'un mimmekka

I will drench the earth With your oozing blood upon the hills, And the watercourses shall be filled with your [gore].

vekhisseti vekhabbotekha shamayim vehiqdarti et-kokhevehem shemesh be'anan akhassennu veyareakh lo-ya'ir oro

When you are snuffed out, I will cover the sky And darken its stars; I will cover the sun with clouds And the moon shall not give its light.

kol-me'ore or bashamayim aqdirem alekha venatatti khoshekh al-artsekha ne'um adonay Elohim

All the lights that shine in the sky I will darken above you; And I will bring darkness upon your land —declares the Sovereign GOD.

vehikhasti lev ammim rabbim bahavi'i shivrekha baggoyim al-aratsot asher lo-yedatam

I will vex the hearts of many peoples When I bring your shattered remnants among the nations, To countries that you never knew.

vahashimmoti alekha ammim rabbim umalkhehem yisaru alekha sa'ar be'ofefi kharbi al-penehem vekharedu lirga'im ish lenafsho beyom mappaltekha

I will strike many peoples with horror over your fate; And their kings shall be aghast over you, When I brandish My sword before them. Everyone shall tremble continually For their own life, On the day of your downfall.

ki koh amar adonay Elohim kherev melekh-bavel tevo'ekha

For thus said the Sovereign GOD: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you.

bekharvot gibborim appil hamonekha aritse goyim kullam veshadedu et-ge'on mitsrayim venishmad kol-hamonah

I will cause your multitude to fall By the swords of warriors, All the most ruthless among the nations. They shall ravage the splendor of Egypt, And all her masses shall be wiped out.

veha'avadti et-kol-behemtah me'al mayim rabbim velo tidlakhem regel-adam od ufarsot behemah lo tidlakhem

I will make all her cattle vanish from beside abundant waters; The feet of humans shall not muddy them anymore, Nor shall the hoofs of cattle muddy them.

az ashqia memehem venaharotam kashemen olikh ne'um adonay Elohim

Then I will let their waters settle, And make their rivers flow like oil —declares the Sovereign GOD:

betitti et-erets mitsrayim shemamah uneshammah erets mimmelo'ah behakkoti et-kol-yosheve vah veyade'u ki-ani Adonai

When I lay the land of Egypt waste, When the land is emptied of [the life] that filled it, When I strike down all its inhabitants. And they shall know that I am GOD.

qinah hi veqonenuha benot haggoyim teqonennah otah al-mitsrayim ve'al-kol-hamonah teqonennah otah ne'um adonay Elohim

This is a dirge, and it shall be intoned; The women of the nations shall intone it, They shall intone it over Egypt and all her multitude —declares the Sovereign GOD.

vayehi bishte esreh shanah bakhamisha asar lakhodesh hayah devar-Adonai elay lemor

In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the month, the word of GOD came to me:

ben-adam neheh al-hamon mitsrayim vehoridehu otah uvenot goyim addirim el-erets takhtiyyot et-yorede vor

O mortal, wail [the dirge]—along with the women of the mighty nations—over the masses of Egypt, accompanying their descent to the lowest part of the netherworld, among those who have gone down into the Pit.

mimmi na'ameta redah vehoshkevah et-arelim

Whom do you surpass in beauty? Down with you, and be laid to rest with the uncircumcised!

betokh khalle-kherev yippolu kherev nittanah moshkhu otah vekhol-hamoneha

They shall lie amid those slain by the sword, [amid those slain by] the sword [Egypt] has been dragged and left with all her masses.

yedabberu-lo ele gibborim mittokh she'ol et-ozerayw yaredu shakhevu ha'arelim khalle-kharev

From the depths of Sheol the mightiest of warriors speak to Pharaoh and his allies; the uncircumcised, the slain by the sword, have gone down and lie [there].

sham ashur vekhol-qehalah sevivotayw qivrotayw kullam khalalim hannofelim bekharev

Assyria is there with all her company, their graves round about, all of them slain, fallen by the sword.

asher nittenu qivroteha beyarkete-vor vayehi qehalah sevivot qevuratah kullam khalalim nofelim bakherev asher-natenu khittit be'erets khayyim

Their graves set in the farthest recesses of the Pit, all her company are round about her tomb, all of them slain, fallen by the sword—they who struck terror in the land of the living.

sham elam vekhol-hamonah sevivot qevuratah kullam khalalim hannofelim bakherev asher-yaredu arelim el-erets takhtiyyot asher natenu khittitam be'erets khayyim vayyisu khelimmatam et-yorede vor

There too is Elam and all her masses round about her tomb, all of them slain, fallen by the sword—they who descended uncircumcised to the lowest part of the netherworld, who struck terror in the land of the living—now they bear their shame with those who have gone down to the Pit.

betokh khalalim natenu mishkav lah bekhol-hamonah sevivotayw qivroteha kullam arelim khalle-kherev ki-nittan khittitam be'erets khayyim vayyisu khelimmatam et-yorede vor betokh khalalim nittan

They made a bed for her among the slain, with all her masses; their graves are round about her. They are all uncircumcised, slain by the sword. Though their terror was once spread over the land of the living, they bear their shame with those who have gone into the Pit; they are placed among the slain.

sham meshekh tuval vekhol-hamonah sevivotayw qivroteha kullam arelim mekhulle kherev ki-natenu khittitam be'erets khayyim

Meshech and Tubal and all their masses are there; their graves are round about. They are all uncircumcised, pierced through by the sword—they who once struck terror in the land of the living.

velo yishkevu et-gibborim nofelim me'arelim asher yaredu-she'ol bikhle-milkhamtam vayyittenu et-kharvotam takhat rashehem vattehi avonotam al-atsmotam ki-khittit gibborim be'erets khayyim

And they do not lie with the fallen uncircumcised warriors, who went down to Sheol with their battle gear, who put their swords beneath their heads and their iniquities upon their bones—for the terror of the warriors was upon the land of the living.

ve'attah betokh arelim tishavar vetishkav et-khalle-kharev

And you too shall be shattered amid the uncircumcised, and lie among those slain by the sword.

shammah edom melakheha vekhol-nesi'eha asher-nittenu vigvuratam et-khalle-kharev hemmah et-arelim yishkavu ve'et-yorede vor

Edom is there, her kings and all her chieftains, who, for all their might, are laid among those who are slain by the sword; they too lie with the uncircumcised and with those who have gone down to the Pit.

shammah nesikhe tsafon kullam vekhol-tsidoni asher-yaredu et-khalalim bekhittitam migvuratam boshim vayyishkevu arelim et-khalle-kherev vayyisu khelimmatam et-yorede vor

All the princes of the north and all the Sidonians are there, who went down in disgrace with the slain, despite the terror that their might inspired; and they lie, uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword, and bear their shame with those who have gone down to the Pit.

otam yireh faroh venikham al-kol-hamonoh khalle-kherev paroh vekhol-khelo ne'um adonay Elohim

These Pharaoh shall see, and he shall be consoled for all his masses, those of Pharaoh’s men slain by the sword and all his army—declares the Sovereign GOD.

ki-natatti et-[khittiti] (khtytv) be'erets khayyim vehushkav betokh arelim et-khalle-kherev paroh vekhol-hamonoh ne'um adonay Elohim

I strike terror into the land of the living; Pharaoh and all his masses are laid among the uncircumcised, along with those who were slain by the sword—said the Sovereign GOD.
