Isaiah 45

koh-amar Adonai limshikho lekhoresh asher-hekhezaqti vimino lerad-lefanayw goyim umotne melakhim afatteakh liftoakh lefanayw delatayim ushe'arim lo yissageru

Thus said GOD to Cyrus, the anointed one— Having grasped his right hand, Treading down nations before him, Ungirding the loins of kings, Opening doors before him And letting no gate stay shut:

ani lefanekha elekh vahadurim (vshr) [ayasher] daltot nekhushah ashabber uverikhe varzel agaddea

I will march before you And level the hills that loom up; I will shatter doors of bronze And cut down iron bars.

venatatti lekha otserot khoshekh umatmune mistarim lema'an teda ki-ani Adonai haqqore veshimkha elohe yisra'el

I will give you treasures concealed in the dark And secret hoards— So that you may know that it is I the ETERNAL One, The God of Israel, who call you by name.

lema'an avdi ya'aqov veyisra'el bekhiri va'eqra lekha bishmekha akhannekha velo yedatani

For the sake of My servant Jacob, Israel My chosen one, I call you by name, I hail you by title, though you have not known Me.

ani Adonai ve'en od zulati en elohim a'azzerkha velo yedatani

I am GOD and there is none else; Beside Me, there is no god. I engird you, though you have not known Me,

lema'an yede'u mimmizrakh-shemesh umimma'aravah ki-efes biladay ani Adonai ve'en od

So that they may know, from east to west, That there is none but Me. I am GOD and there is none else,

yotser or uvore khoshekh oseh shalom uvore ra ani Adonai oseh khol-elleh

I form light and create darkness, I make weal and create woe— I GOD do all these things.

harifu shamayim mimma'al ushekhaqim yizzelu-tsedeq tiftakh-erets veyifru-yesha utsedaqah tatsmiakh yakhad ani Adonai berativ

Pour down, O skies, from above! Let the heavens rain down victory! Let the earth open up and triumph sprout, Yes, let vindication spring up: I GOD have created it.

hoy rav et-yotsero kheres et-kharse adamah hayomar khomer leyotsero mah-tta'aseh ufo'olkha en-yadayim lo

Shame on anyone who argues with their Maker, Though naught but a potsherd of earth! Shall the clay say to the potter, “What are you doing? Your work has no handles”?

hoy omer le'av mah-ttolid ule'isha mah-ttekhilin

Shame on anyone who asks a father, “What are you begetting?” Or a woman, “What are you bearing?”

koh-amar Adonai qedosh yisra'el veyotsero ha'otiyyot she'aluni al-banay ve'al-po'al yaday tetsavvuni

Thus said GOD, Israel’s Holy One and Maker: Will you question Me on the destiny of My children, Will you instruct Me about the work of My hands?

anokhi asiti erets ve'adam aleha varati ani yaday natu shamayim vekhol-tseva'am tsivveti

It was I who made the earth And created humankind upon it; My own hands stretched out the heavens, And I marshaled all their host.

anokhi ha'irotihu vetsedeq vekhol-derakhayw ayasher hu-yivneh iri vegaluti yeshalleakh lo vimkhir velo veshokhad amar Adonai tseva'ot

It was I who roused him for victory And who level all roads for him. He shall rebuild My city And let My exiled people go Without price and without payment —said GOD of Hosts.

koh amar Adonai yegia mitsrayim usekhar-kush useva'im anshe middah alayikh ya'avoru velakh yihyu akharayikh yelekhu bazziqqim ya'avoru ve'elayikh yishtakhavu elayikh yitpallalu akh bakh el ve'en od efes elohim

Thus said GOD: Egypt’s wealth and Cush’s gains And Sabaites, long of limb, Shall pass over to you and be yours, Pass over and follow you in fetters, Bow low to you And reverently address you: “Only among you is God, There is no other god at all!

akhen attah el mistatter elohe yisra'el moshia

You are indeed a God who hides in concealment, O God of Israel, who brings victory!

boshu vegam-nikhlemu kullam yakhdav halekhu vakkelimmah kharashe tsirim

Those who fabricate idols— All are shamed and disgraced; They slink away in disgrace together.

yisra'el nosha ba-Adonai teshu'at olamim lo-tevoshu velo-tikkalemu ad-oleme ad

But Israel has won through GOD Triumph everlasting. You shall not be shamed or disgraced In all the ages to come!”

ki khoh amar-Adonai bore hashamayim hu ha'elohim yotser ha'arets ve'osah hu khonenah lo-tohu vera'ah lashevet yetsarah ani Adonai ve'en od

For thus said GOD, The Creator of heaven who alone is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who alone established it— Who did not create it a waste, But formed it for habitation: I am GOD, and there is none else.

lo vasseter dibbarti bimqom erets khoshekh lo amarti lezera ya'aqov tohu vaqqeshuni ani Adonai dover tsedeq maggid mesharim

I did not speak in secret, At a site in a land of darkness; I did not say to the stock of Jacob, “Seek Me out in a wasteland”— I GOD, who foretell reliably, Who announce what is true.

hiqqavetsu vavo'u hitnaggeshu yakhdav pelite haggoyim lo yade'u hannose'im et-ets pislam umitpallim el-el lo yoshia

Come, gather together, Draw nigh, you remnants of the nations! No foreknowledge had they who carry their wooden images And pray to a god who cannot give success.

haggidu vehaggishu af yivva'atsu yakhdav mi hishmia zot miqqedem me'az higgidah halo ani Adonai ve'en-od elohim mibbaladay el-tsaddiq umoshia ayin zulati

Speak up, compare testimony— Let them even take counsel together! Who announced this aforetime, Foretold it of old? Was it not I the ETERNAL One? Then there is no god beside Me, No God exists beside Me Who foretells truly and grants success.

penu-elay vehivvashe'u kol-afse-arets ki ani-el ve'en od

Turn to Me and gain success, All the ends of earth! For I am God, and there is none else.

bi nishbati yatsa mippi tsedaqah davar velo yashuv ki-li tikhra kol-berekh tishava kol-lashon

By Myself have I sworn, From My mouth has issued truth, A word that shall not turn back: To Me every knee shall bend, Every tongue swear loyalty.

akh ba-Adonai li amar tsedaqot va'oz adayw yavo veyevoshu kol hannekherim bo

They shall say: “Only through GOD Can I find victory and might. When people trust in [God], All their adversaries are put to shame.

ba-Adonai yitsdequ veyithalelu kol-zera yisra'el

It is through GOD that all the offspring of Israel Have vindication and glory.”
