vayyetse haggoral hasheni leshimon lematteh vene-shimon lemishpekhotam vayehi nakhalatam betokh nakhalat bene-yehudah

The second lot fell to Simeon. The portion of the tribe of the Simeonites, by their clans, lay inside the portion of the Judahites.

vayehi lahem benakhalatam be'er-sheva vesheva umoladah

Their portion comprised: Beer-sheba—or Sheba—Moladah,

vakhatsar shu'al uvalah va'atsem

Hazar-shual, Balah, Ezem,

ve'eltolad uvetul vekhormah

Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,

vetsiqlag uvet-hammarkavot vakhatsar susah

Ziklag, Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susah,

uvet leva'ot vesharukhen arim shelosh-esreh vekhatsrehen

Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen—13 towns, with their villages.

ayin rimmon va'eter ve'ashan arim arba vekhatsrehen

Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan: 4 towns, with their villages—

vekhol-hakhatserim asher sevivot he'arim ha'elleh ad-ba'alat be'er ramat negev zot nakhalat matteh vene-shimon lemishpekhotam

together with all the villages in the vicinity of those towns, down to Baalath-beer [and] Ramath-negeb. That was the portion of the tribe of the Simeonites, by their clans.

mekhevel bene yehudah nakhalat bene shimon ki-hayah kheleq bene-yehudah rav mehem vayyinkhalu vene-shimon betokh nakhalatam

The portion of the Simeonites was part of the territory of the Judahites; since the share of the Judahites was larger than they needed, the Simeonites received a portion inside their portion.

vayya'al haggoral hashelishi livne zevulun lemishpekhotam vayehi gevul nakhalatam ad-sarid

The third lot emerged for the Zebulunites, by their clans. The boundary of their portion: Starting at Sarid,

ve'alah gevulam layyammah umaralah ufaga bedabbashet ufaga el-hannakhal asher al-pene yoqne'am

their boundary ascended westward to Maralah, touching Dabbesheth and touching the wadi alongside Jokneam.

veshav missarid qedemah mizrakh hashemesh al-gevul kislot tavor veyatsa el-haddaverat ve'alah yafia

And it also ran from Sarid along the eastern side, where the sun rises, past the territory of Chisloth-tabor and on to Daberath and ascended to Japhia.

umisham avar qedemah mizrakhah gittah khefer ittah qatsin veyatsa rimmon hammeto'ar hanne'ah

From there it ran [back] to the east, toward the sunrise, to Gath-hepher, to Eth-kazin, and on to Rimmon, where it curved to Neah.

venasav oto haggevul mitsefon khannaton vehayu totse'otayw ge yiftakh-el

Then it turned—that is, the boundary on the north—to Hannathon. Its extreme limits were the Valley of Iphtah-el,

veqattat venahalal veshimron veyidalah uvet lakhem arim shetem-esreh vekhatsrehen

Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem: 12 towns, with their villages.

zot nakhalat bene-zevulun lemishpekhotam he'arim ha'elleh vekhatsrehen

That was the portion of the Zebulunites by their clans—those towns, with their villages.

leyissashkhar yatsa haggoral harevi'i livne yissashkhar lemishpekhotam

The fourth lot fell to Issachar, the Issacharites by their clans.

vayehi gevulam yizre'elah vehakkesulot veshunem

Their territory comprised: Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem,

vakhafarayim veshi'on va'anakharat

Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,

veharabbit veqishyon va'avets

Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,

veremet ve'en-gannim ve'en khaddah uvet patsets

Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez.

ufaga haggevul betavor (vshkhtsvmh) [veshakhatsimah] uvet shemesh vehayu totse'ot gevulam hayyarden arim shesh-esreh vekhatsrehen

The boundary touched Tabor, Shahazimah, and Beth-shemesh; and their boundary ran to the Jordan: 16 towns, with their villages.

zot nakhalat matteh vene-yissashkhar lemishpekhotam he'arim vekhatsrehen

That was the portion of the tribe of the Issacharites, by their clans—the towns with their villages.

vayyetse haggoral hakhamishi lematteh vene-asher lemishpekhotam

The fifth lot fell to the tribe of the Asherites, by their clans.

vayehi gevulam khelqat vakhali vaveten ve'akhshaf

Their boundary ran along Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph,

ve'alammelekh ve'amad umishal ufaga bekharmel hayyammah uveshikhor livnat

Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal; and it touched Carmel on the west, and Shihor-libnath.

veshav mizrakh hashemesh bet dagon ufaga bizvulun uvege yiftakh-el tsafonah bet ha'emeq une'i'el veyatsa el-kavul missemol

It also ran along the east side to Beth-dagon, and touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah-el to the north, [as also] Beth-emek and Neiel; then it ran to Cabul on the north,

ve'evron urekhov vekhammon veqanah ad tsidon rabbah

Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, up to Great Sidon.

veshav haggevul haramah ve'ad-ir mivtsar-tsor veshav haggevul khosah (vyhyv) [vehayu] totse'otayw hayyammah mekhevel akhzivah

The boundary turned to Ramah and on to the fortified city of Tyre; then the boundary turned to Hosah and it ran on westward to Mehebel, Achzib,

ve'umah va'afeq urekhov arim esrim ushetayim vekhatsrehen

Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob: 22 towns, with their villages.

zot nakhalat matteh vene-asher lemishpekhotam he'arim ha'elleh vekhatsrehen

That was the portion of the tribe of the Asherites, by their clans—those towns, with their villages.

livne naftali yatsa haggoral hashishi livne naftali lemishpekhotam

The sixth lot fell to the Naphtalites, the Naphtalites by their clans.

vayehi gevulam mekhelef me'elon betsa'anannim va'adami hanneqev veyavne'el ad-laqqum vayehi totse'otayw hayyarden

Their boundary ran from Heleph, Elon-bezaanannim, Adami-nekeb, and Jabneel to Lakkum, and it ended at the Jordan.

veshav haggevul yammah aznot tavor veyatsa misham khuqoqah ufaga bizvulun minnegev uve'asher paga miyyam uvihudah hayyarden mizrakh hashamesh

The boundary then turned westward to Aznoth-tabor and ran from there to Hukok. It touched Zebulun on the south, and it touched Asher on the west, and Judah at the Jordan on the east.

ve'are mivtsar hatsiddim tser vekhammat raqqat vekhinnaret

Its fortified towns were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth,

va'adamah veharamah vekhatsor

Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,

veqedesh ve'edre'i ve'en khatsor

Kedesh, Edrei, En-hazor,

veyiron umigdal-el khorem uvet-anat uvet shamesh arim tesha-esreh vekhatsrehen

Iron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh: 19 towns, with their villages.

zot nakhalat matteh vene-naftali lemishpekhotam he'arim vekhatsrehen

That was the portion of the tribe of the Naphtalites, by their clans—the towns, with their villages.

lematteh vene-dan lemishpekhotam yatsa haggoral hashevi'i

The seventh lot fell to the tribe of the Danites, by their clans.

vayehi gevul nakhalatam tsorah ve'eshta'ol ve'ir shamesh

Their allotted territory comprised: Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-shemesh,

vesha'alabbin ve'ayyalon veyitlah

Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,

ve'elon vetimnatah ve'eqron

Elon, Timnah, Ekron,

ve'elteqeh vegibbeton uva'alat

Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,

vihud uvene-veraq vegat-rimmon

Jehud, Bene-berak, Gath-rimmon,

ume hayyarqon veharaqqon im-haggevul mul yafo

Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, at the border near Joppa.

vayyetse gevul-bene-dan mehem vayya'alu vene-dan vayyillakhamu im-leshem vayyilkedu otah vayyakku otah lefi-kherev vayyirshu otah vayyeshevu vah vayyiqre'u leleshem dan keshem dan avihem

But the territory of the Danites slipped from their grasp. So the Danites migrated and made war on Leshem. They captured it and put it to the sword; they took possession of it and settled in it. And they changed the name of Leshem to Dan, after their ancestor Dan.

That was the portion of the tribe of the Danites, by their clans—those towns, with their villages.

vayekhallu linkhol-et-ha'arets ligvuloteha vayyittenu vene-yisra'el nakhalah lihoshua bin-nun betokham

When they had finished allotting the land by its boundaries, the Israelites gave a portion in their midst to Joshua son of Nun.

al-pi Adonai natenu lo et-ha'ir asher sha'al et-timnat-serakh behar efrayim vayyivneh et-ha'ir vayyeshev bah

At GOD’s command they gave him the town that he asked for, Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim; he fortified the town and settled in it.

elleh hannekhalot asher nikhalu elazar hakkohen vihoshua bin-nun verashe ha'avot lemattot bene-yisra'el begoral beshiloh lifne Adonai petakh ohel mo'ed vayekhallu mekhalleq et-ha'arets
