vayehi beyom kallot mosheh lehaqim et-hammishkan vayyimshakh oto vayeqaddesh oto ve'et-kol-kelayw ve'et-hammizbeakh ve'et-kol-kelayw vayyimshakhem vayeqaddesh otam

On the day that Moses finished setting up the Tabernacle, he anointed and consecrated it and all its furnishings, as well as the altar and its utensils. When he had anointed and consecrated them,

vayyaqrivu nesi'e yisra'el rashe bet avotam hem nesi'e hammattot hem ha'omedim al-happequdim

the chieftains of Israel, the heads of ancestral houses, namely, the chieftains of the tribes, those who were in charge of enrollment, drew near

vayyavi'u et-qorbanam lifne Adonai shesh-eglot tsav ushene asar baqar agalah al-shene hannesi'im veshor le'ekhad vayyaqrivu otam lifne hammishkan

and brought their offering before GOD: six draught carts and twelve oxen, a cart for every two chieftains and an ox for each one. When they had brought them before the Tabernacle,

vayyomer Adonai el-mosheh lemor

GOD said to Moses:

qakh me'ittam vehayu la'avod et-avodat ohel mo'ed venatattah otam el-haleviyyim ish kefi avodato

Accept these from them for use in the service of the Tent of Meeting, and give them to the Levites according to their respective services.

vayyiqqakh mosheh et-ha'agalot ve'et-habbaqar vayyitten otam el-haleviyyim

Moses took the carts and the oxen and gave them to the Levites.

et shete ha'agalot ve'et arba'at habbaqar natan livne gereshon kefi avodatam

Two carts and four oxen he gave to the Gershonites, as required for their service,

ve'et arba ha'agalot ve'et shemonat habbaqar natan livne merari kefi avodatam beyad itamar ben-aharon hakkohen

and four carts and eight oxen he gave to the Merarites, as required for their service—under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.

velivne qehat lo natan ki-avodat haqqodesh alehem bakkatef yissa'u

But to the Kohathites he did not give any; since theirs was the service of the [most] sacred objects, their porterage was by shoulder.

vayyaqrivu hannesi'im et khanukkat hammizbeakh beyom himmashakh oto vayyaqrivu hannesi'im et-qorbanam lifne hammizbeakh

The chieftains also brought the dedication offering for the altar upon its being anointed. As the chieftains were presenting their offerings before the altar,

vayyomer Adonai el-mosheh nasi ekhad layyom nasi ekhad layyom yaqrivu et-qorbanam lakhanukkat hammizbeakh

GOD said to Moses: Let them present their offerings for the dedication of the altar, one chieftain each day.

vayehi hammaqriv bayyom harishon et-qorbano nakhshon ben-amminadav lematteh yehudah

The one who presented his offering on the first day was Nahshon son of Amminadab of the tribe of Judah.

one goat for a purgation offering;

ulezevakh hashelamim baqar shenayim elim khamisha attudim khamisha kevasim bene-shanah khamisha zeh qorban nakhshon ben-amminadav

and for his sacrifice of well-being: two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, and five yearling lambs. That was the offering of Nahshon son of Amminadab.

bayyom hasheni hiqriv netanel ben-tsu'ar nesi yissashkhar

On the second day, Nethanel son of Zuar, chieftain of Issachar, made his offering.

ulezevakh hashelamim baqar shenayim elim khamisha attudim khamisha kevasim bene-shanah khamisha zeh qorban netanel ben-tsu'ar

and for his sacrifice of well-being: two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, and five yearling lambs. That was the offering of Nethanel son of Zuar.

bayyom hashelishi nasi livne zevulun eli'av ben-khelon

On the third day, it was the chieftain of the Zebulunites, Eliab son of Helon.

On the fourth day, it was the chieftain of the Reubenites, Elizur son of Shedeur.

bayyom hakhamishi nasi livne shimon shelumi'el ben-tsurishadday

On the fifth day, it was the chieftain of the Simeonites, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.

On the sixth day, it was the chieftain of the Gadites, Eliasaph son of Deuel.

On the seventh day, it was the chieftain of the Ephraimites, Elishama son of Ammihud.

bayyom hashemini nasi livne menasheh gamli'el ben-pedahtsur

On the eighth day, it was the chieftain of the Manassites, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.

bayyom hatteshi'i nasi livne vinyamin avidan ben-gidoni

On the ninth day, it was the chieftain of the Benjaminites, Abidan son of Gideoni.

On the tenth day, it was the chieftain of the Danites, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.

On the eleventh day, it was the chieftain of the Asherites, Pagiel son of Ochran.

On the twelfth day, it was the chieftain of the Naphtalites, Ahira son of Enan.

zot khanukkat hammizbeakh beyom himmashakh oto me'et nesi'e yisra'el qa'arot kesef shetem esreh mizreqe-khesef shenem asar kappot zahav shetem esreh

This was the dedication offering for the altar from the chieftains of Israel upon its being anointed: silver bowls, 12; silver basins, 12; gold ladles, 12.

The 12 gold ladles filled with incense—10 sanctuary shekels per ladle—total gold of the ladles, 120.

Total of herd animals for burnt offerings, 12 bulls; of rams, 12; of yearling lambs, 12—with their proper grain offerings; of goats for purgation offerings, 12.

vekhol beqar zevakh hashelamim esrim ve'arba'ah parim elim shishim attudim shishim kevasim bene-shanah shishim zot khanukkat hammizbeakh akhare himmashakh oto

Total of herd animals for sacrifices of well-being, 24 bulls; of rams, 60; of he-goats, 60; of yearling lambs, 60. That was the dedication offering for the altar after its anointing.

uvevo mosheh el-ohel mo'ed ledabber itto vayyishma et-haqqol middabber elayw me'al hakkapporet asher al-aron ha'edut mibben shene hakkeruvim vayedabber elayw

When Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with [God], he would hear the Voice addressing him from above the cover that was on top of the Ark of the Pact between the two cherubim; thus [God] spoke to him.
