שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּעֲל֑וֹת מִמַּעֲמַקִּ֖ים קְרָאתִ֣יךָ יְהֹוָֽה׃
shir hamma'alot mimma'amaqqim qeratikha Adonai
A song of ascents. Out of the depths I call You, O ETERNAL One.
אֲדֹנָי֮ שִׁמְעָ֢ה בְק֫וֹלִ֥י תִּהְיֶ֣ינָה אׇ֭זְנֶיךָ קַשֻּׁב֑וֹת לְ֝ק֗וֹל תַּחֲנוּנָֽי׃
adonay shimah veqoli tihyenah oznekha qashuvot leqol takhanunay
O my Sovereign, listen to my cry; let Your ears be attentive to my plea for mercy.
אִם־עֲוֺנ֥וֹת תִּשְׁמׇר־יָ֑הּ אֲ֝דֹנָ֗י מִ֣י יַעֲמֹֽד׃
im-avonot tishmor-yah adonay mi ya'amod
If You keep account of sins, O Yah, my Sovereign, who will survive?
כִּֽי־עִמְּךָ֥ הַסְּלִיחָ֑ה לְ֝מַ֗עַן תִּוָּרֵֽא׃
ki-immekha hasselikhah lema'an tivvare
Yours is the power to forgive so that You may be held in awe.
קִוִּ֣יתִי יְ֭הֹוָה קִוְּתָ֣ה נַפְשִׁ֑י וְֽלִדְבָר֥וֹ הוֹחָֽלְתִּי׃
qivviti Adonai qivvetah nafshi velidvaro hokhaleti
I look to GOD; my whole being is looking; I await God’s word.
נַפְשִׁ֥י לַאדֹנָ֑י מִשֹּׁמְרִ֥ים לַ֝בֹּ֗קֶר שֹׁמְרִ֥ים לַבֹּֽקֶר׃
nafshi ladonay mishomerim labboqer shomerim labboqer
I am more eager for my Sovereign than guards for the morning, guards for the morning.
יַחֵ֥ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶל־יְ֫הֹוָ֥ה כִּֽי־עִם־יְהֹוָ֥ה הַחֶ֑סֶד וְהַרְבֵּ֖ה עִמּ֣וֹ פְדֽוּת׃
yakhel yisra'el el-Adonai ki-im-Adonai hakhesed veharbeh immo fedut
O Israel, wait for GOD; for with GOD is steadfast love and great power to redeem.
וְ֭הוּא יִפְדֶּ֣ה אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מִ֝כֹּ֗ל עֲוֺנֹתָֽיו׃ {פ}
vehu yifdeh et-yisra'el mikkol avonotayw
It is this One who will redeem Israel from all their iniquities.
