לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ בִּנְגִינֹ֗ת מַשְׂכִּ֥יל לְדָוִֽד׃
lamnatseakh binginot maskil ledavid
For the leader; with instrumental music. A maskil of David,
בְּבֹ֣א הַ֭זִּיפִים וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ לְשָׁא֑וּל הֲלֹ֥א דָ֝וִ֗ד מִסְתַּתֵּ֥ר עִמָּֽנוּ׃
bevo hazzifim vayyomeru lesha'ul halo david mistatter immanu
when the Ziphites came and told Saul, “Know, David is in hiding among us.”
אֱ֭לֹהִים בְּשִׁמְךָ֣ הוֹשִׁיעֵ֑נִי וּבִגְבוּרָתְךָ֥ תְדִינֵֽנִי׃
elohim beshimkha hoshi'eni uvigvuratekha tedineni
O God, deliver me by Your name; by Your power vindicate me.
אֱ֭לֹהִים שְׁמַ֣ע תְּפִלָּתִ֑י הַ֝אֲזִ֗ינָה לְאִמְרֵי־פִֽי׃
elohim shema tefillati ha'azinah le'imre-fi
O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth.
כִּ֤י זָרִ֨ים ׀ קָ֤מוּ עָלַ֗י וְֽ֭עָרִיצִים בִּקְשׁ֣וּ נַפְשִׁ֑י לֹ֤א שָׂ֨מוּ אֱלֹהִ֖ים לְנֶגְדָּ֣ם סֶֽלָה׃
ki zarim qamu alay ve'aritsim biqshu nafshi lo samu elohim lenegdam selah
For strangers have risen against me, and those who are ruthless seek my life; they are unmindful of God. Selah.
הִנֵּ֣ה אֱ֭לֹהִים עֹזֵ֣ר לִ֑י אֲ֝דֹנָ֗י בְּֽסֹמְכֵ֥י נַפְשִֽׁי׃
hinneh elohim ozer li adonay besomekhe nafshi
See, God is my helper; my Sovereign is my support.
(ישוב) [יָשִׁ֣יב] הָ֭רַע לְשֹׁרְרָ֑י בַּ֝אֲמִתְּךָ֗ הַצְמִיתֵֽם׃
(yshvv) [yashiv] hara leshoreray ba'amittekha hatsmitem
[God] will repay the evil of my watchful foes; by Your faithfulness, destroy them!
בִּנְדָבָ֥ה אֶזְבְּחָה־לָּ֑ךְ א֤וֹדֶה־שִּׁמְךָ֖ יְהֹוָ֣ה כִּי־טֽוֹב׃
bindavah ezbekhah-llakh odeh-shimkha Adonai ki-tov
Then I will offer You a freewill sacrifice; I will praise Your name, ETERNAL One, for it is good,
כִּ֣י מִכׇּל־צָ֭רָה הִצִּילָ֑נִי וּ֝בְאֹיְבַ֗י רָאֲתָ֥ה עֵינִֽי׃ {פ}
ki mikkol-tsarah hitsilani uve'oyevay ra'atah eni
for it has saved me from my foes, and let me gaze triumphant upon my enemies.
