Psalms 75

lamnatseakh al-tashkhet mizmor le'asaf shir

For the leader; al tashḥeth.A psalm of Asaph, a song.

hodinu lekha elohim hodinu veqarov shemekha sipperu nifle'otekha

We praise You, O God; we praise You; Your presence is near; people tell of Your wondrous deeds.

ki eqqakh mo'ed ani mesharim eshpot

“At the time I choose, I will give judgment equitably.

nemogim erets vekhol-yosheveha anokhi tikkanti ammudeha selah

Earth and all its inhabitants dissolve; it is I who keep its pillars firm. Selah.

amarti laholelim al-tahollu velaresha'im al-tarimu qaren

To the wanton I say, ‘Do not be wanton!’ to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns!’”

al-tarimu lammarom qarnekhem tedabberu vetsavvar ataq

Do not lift your horns up high in vainglorious bluster.

ki lo mimmotsa umimma'arav velo mimmidbar harim

For exaltation comes not from the east or from the west or the wilderness;

ki-elohim shofet zeh yashpil vezeh yarim

for God it is who gives judgment— bringing down one and lifting up another.

ki khos beyad-Adonai veyayin khamar male mesekh vayyagger mizzeh akh-shemareha yimtsu yishtu kol rishe-arets

There is a cup in GOD’s hand with foaming wine fully mixed; from this [God] pours; all the wicked of the earth drink, draining it to the very dregs.

va'ani aggid le'olam azammerah lelohe ya'aqov

As for me, I will declare forever, I will sing a hymn to the God of Jacob.

vekhol-qarne resha'im agaddea teromamnah qarnot tsaddiq

“All the horns of the wicked I will cut; but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.”
