The sky in Genesis has vents, and on the seventeenth of the month somebody threw them open. Hebrew calls each one an arubbah.

“In the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the springs of the great deep burst open, and the windows (arubbot) of the heavens were opened. (Genesis 7:11)”
