זֶ֣ה סֵ֔פֶר תּוֹלְדֹ֖ת אָדָ֑ם בְּי֗וֹם בְּרֹ֤א אֱלֹהִים֙ אָדָ֔ם בִּדְמ֥וּת אֱלֹהִ֖ים עָשָׂ֥ה אֹתֽוֹ׃
zeh sefer toledot adam beyom bero elohim adam bidmut elohim asah oto
This is the record of Adam’s line.—When God created humankind, it was made in the likeness of God;
זָכָ֥ר וּנְקֵבָ֖ה בְּרָאָ֑ם וַיְבָ֣רֶךְ אֹתָ֗ם וַיִּקְרָ֤א אֶת־שְׁמָם֙ אָדָ֔ם בְּי֖וֹם הִבָּֽרְאָֽם׃
zakhar uneqevah bera'am vayevarekh otam vayyiqra et-shemam adam beyom hibbare'am
they were created male and female. And when they were created, [God] blessed them and called them Humankind.—
וַיְחִ֣י אָדָ֗ם שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וּמְאַת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בִּדְמוּת֖וֹ כְּצַלְמ֑וֹ וַיִּקְרָ֥א אֶת־שְׁמ֖וֹ שֵֽׁת׃
vayekhi adam sheloshim ume'at shanah vayyoled bidmuto ketsalmo vayyiqra et-shemo shet
When Adam had lived 130 years, he begot a son in his likeness after his image, and he named him Seth.
וַיִּֽהְי֣וּ יְמֵי־אָדָ֗ם אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־שֵׁ֔ת שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵאֹ֖ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
vayyihyu yeme-adam akhare holido et-shet shemoneh me'ot shanah vayyoled banim uvanot
After the birth of Seth, Adam lived 800 years and begot sons and daughters.
וַיִּֽהְי֞וּ כׇּל־יְמֵ֤י אָדָם֙ אֲשֶׁר־חַ֔י תְּשַׁ֤ע מֵאוֹת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ {ס}
vayyihyu kol-yeme adam asher-khay tesha me'ot shanah usheloshim shanah vayyamot
All the days that Adam lived came to 930 years; then he died.
וַֽיְחִי־שֵׁ֕ת חָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־אֱנֽוֹשׁ׃
vayekhi-shet khamesh shanim ume'at shanah vayyoled et-enosh
When Seth had lived 105 years, he begot Enosh.
וַֽיְחִי־שֵׁ֗ת אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־אֱנ֔וֹשׁ שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֔ים וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
vayekhi-shet akhare holido et-enosh sheva shanim ushemoneh me'ot shanah vayyoled banim uvanot
After the birth of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and begot sons and daughters.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כׇּל־יְמֵי־שֵׁ֔ת שְׁתֵּ֤ים עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ {ס}
vayyihyu kol-yeme-shet shetem esreh shanah utesha me'ot shanah vayyamot
All the days of Seth came to 912 years; then he died.
וַיְחִ֥י אֱנ֖וֹשׁ תִּשְׁעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־קֵינָֽן׃
vayekhi enosh tishim shanah vayyoled et-qenan
When Enosh had lived 90 years, he begot Kenan.
וַיְחִ֣י אֱנ֗וֹשׁ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־קֵינָ֔ן חֲמֵ֤שׁ עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
vayekhi enosh akhare holido et-qenan khamesh esreh shanah ushemoneh me'ot shanah vayyoled banim uvanot
After the birth of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and begot sons and daughters.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כׇּל־יְמֵ֣י אֱנ֔וֹשׁ חָמֵ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֔ים וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ {ס}
vayyihyu kol-yeme enosh khamesh shanim utesha me'ot shanah vayyamot
All the days of Enosh came to 905 years; then he died.
וַיְחִ֥י קֵינָ֖ן שִׁבְעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־מַֽהֲלַלְאֵֽל׃
vayekhi qenan shivim shanah vayyoled et-mahalalel
When Kenan had lived 70 years, he begot Mahalalel.
וַיְחִ֣י קֵינָ֗ן אַחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־מַֽהֲלַלְאֵ֔ל אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
vayekhi qenan akhare holido et-mahalalel arba'im shanah ushemoneh me'ot shanah vayyoled banim uvanot
After the birth of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and begot sons and daughters.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כׇּל־יְמֵ֣י קֵינָ֔ן עֶ֣שֶׂר שָׁנִ֔ים וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ {ס}
vayyihyu kol-yeme qenan eser shanim utesha me'ot shanah vayyamot
All the days of Kenan came to 910 years; then he died.
וַיְחִ֣י מַֽהֲלַלְאֵ֔ל חָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים וְשִׁשִּׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־יָֽרֶד׃
vayekhi mahalalel khamesh shanim veshishim shanah vayyoled et-yared
When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he begot Jared.
וַיְחִ֣י מַֽהֲלַלְאֵ֗ל אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־יֶ֔רֶד שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
vayekhi mahalalel akhare holido et-yered sheloshim shanah ushemoneh me'ot shanah vayyoled banim uvanot
After the birth of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and begot sons and daughters.
וַיִּהְיוּ֙ כׇּל־יְמֵ֣י מַהֲלַלְאֵ֔ל חָמֵ֤שׁ וְתִשְׁעִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ {ס}
vayyihyu kol-yeme mahalalel khamesh vetishim shanah ushemoneh me'ot shanah vayyamot
All the days of Mahalalel came to 895 years; then he died.
וַֽיְחִי־יֶ֕רֶד שְׁתַּ֧יִם וְשִׁשִּׁ֛ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־חֲנֽוֹךְ׃
vayekhi-yered shetayim veshishim shanah ume'at shanah vayyoled et-khanokh
When Jared had lived 162 years, he begot Enoch.
וַֽיְחִי־יֶ֗רֶד אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־חֲנ֔וֹךְ שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
vayekhi-yered akhare holido et-khanokh shemoneh me'ot shanah vayyoled banim uvanot
After the birth of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and begot sons and daughters.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כׇּל־יְמֵי־יֶ֔רֶד שְׁתַּ֤יִם וְשִׁשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ {ס}
vayyihyu kol-yeme-yered shetayim veshishim shanah utesha me'ot shanah vayyamot
All the days of Jared came to 962 years; then he died.
וַיְחִ֣י חֲנ֔וֹךְ חָמֵ֥שׁ וְשִׁשִּׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־מְתוּשָֽׁלַח׃
vayekhi khanokh khamesh veshishim shanah vayyoled et-metushalakh
When Enoch had lived 65 years, he begot Methuselah.
וַיִּתְהַלֵּ֨ךְ חֲנ֜וֹךְ אֶת־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֗ים אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־מְתוּשֶׁ֔לַח שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
vayyithallekh khanokh et-ha'elohim akhare holido et-metushelakh shelosh me'ot shanah vayyoled banim uvanot
After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years; and he begot sons and daughters.
וַיְהִ֖י כׇּל־יְמֵ֣י חֲנ֑וֹךְ חָמֵ֤שׁ וְשִׁשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָֽה׃
vayehi kol-yeme khanokh khamesh veshishim shanah ushelosh me'ot shanah
All the days of Enoch came to 365 years.
וַיִּתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ חֲנ֖וֹךְ אֶת־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים וְאֵינֶ֕נּוּ כִּֽי־לָקַ֥ח אֹת֖וֹ אֱלֹהִֽים׃ {ס}
vayyithallekh khanokh et-ha'elohim ve'enennu ki-laqakh oto elohim
Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, for God took him.
וַיְחִ֣י מְתוּשֶׁ֔לַח שֶׁ֧בַע וּשְׁמֹנִ֛ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־לָֽמֶךְ׃
vayekhi metushelakh sheva ushemonim shanah ume'at shanah vayyoled et-lamekh
When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he begot Lamech.
וַיְחִ֣י מְתוּשֶׁ֗לַח אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־לֶ֔מֶךְ שְׁתַּ֤יִם וּשְׁמוֹנִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
vayekhi metushelakh akhare holido et-lemekh shetayim ushemonim shanah usheva me'ot shanah vayyoled banim uvanot
After the birth of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and begot sons and daughters.
וַיִּהְיוּ֙ כׇּל־יְמֵ֣י מְתוּשֶׁ֔לַח תֵּ֤שַׁע וְשִׁשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ {ס}
vayyihyu kol-yeme metushelakh tesha veshishim shanah utesha me'ot shanah vayyamot
All the days of Methuselah came to 969 years; then he died.
וַֽיְחִי־לֶ֕מֶךְ שְׁתַּ֧יִם וּשְׁמֹנִ֛ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד בֵּֽן׃
vayekhi-lemekh shetayim ushemonim shanah ume'at shanah vayyoled ben
When Lamech had lived 182 years, he begot a son.
וַיִּקְרָ֧א אֶת־שְׁמ֛וֹ נֹ֖חַ לֵאמֹ֑ר זֶ֞֠ה יְנַחֲמֵ֤נוּ מִֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֙נוּ֙ וּמֵעִצְּב֣וֹן יָדֵ֔ינוּ מִן־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֵֽרְרָ֖הּ יְהֹוָֽה׃
vayyiqra et-shemo noakh lemor zeh yenakhamenu mimma'asenu ume'itsevon yadenu min-ha'adamah asher ererah Adonai
And he named him Noah, saying, “This one will provide us relief from our work and from the toil of our hands, out of the very soil that GOD placed under a curse.”
וַֽיְחִי־לֶ֗מֶךְ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־נֹ֔חַ חָמֵ֤שׁ וְתִשְׁעִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֹ֖ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
vayekhi-lemekh akhare holido et-noakh khamesh vetishim shanah vakhamesh me'ot shanah vayyoled banim uvanot
After the birth of Noah, Lamech lived 595 years and begot sons and daughters.
וַֽיְהִי֙ כׇּל־יְמֵי־לֶ֔מֶךְ שֶׁ֤בַע וְשִׁבְעִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ {ס}
vayehi kol-yeme-lemekh sheva veshivim shanah usheva me'ot shanah vayyamot
All the days of Lamech came to 777 years; then he died.
וַֽיְהִי־נֹ֕חַ בֶּן־חֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֣וֹלֶד נֹ֔חַ אֶת־שֵׁ֖ם אֶת־חָ֥ם וְאֶת־יָֽפֶת׃
vayehi-noakh ben-khamesh me'ot shanah vayyoled noakh et-shem et-kham ve'et-yafet
When Noah had lived 500 years, Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
