אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל רְאוּבֵ֤ן שִׁמְעוֹן֙ לֵוִ֣י וִיהוּדָ֔ה יִשָּׂשכָ֖ר וּזְבֻלֽוּן׃
elleh bene yisra'el re'uven shimon levi vihudah yissashkhar uzevulun
These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,
דָּ֚ן יוֹסֵ֣ף וּבִנְיָמִ֔ן נַפְתָּלִ֖י גָּ֥ד וְאָשֵֽׁר׃ {פ}
dan yosef uvinyamin naftali gad ve'asher
Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה עֵ֤ר וְאוֹנָן֙ וְשֵׁלָ֔ה שְׁלוֹשָׁה֙ נ֣וֹלַד ל֔וֹ מִבַּת־שׁ֖וּעַ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑ית וַיְהִ֞י עֵ֣ר ׀ בְּכ֣וֹר יְהוּדָ֗ה רַ֛ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה וַיְמִיתֵֽהוּ׃ {ס}
bene yehudah er ve'onan veshelah sheloshah nolad lo mibbat-shua hakkena'anit vayehi er bekhor yehudah ra be'ene Adonai vayemitehu
The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah; these three, Bath-shua the Canaanite bore to him. But Er, Judah’s first-born, was displeasing to GOD, who took his life.
וְתָמָר֙ כַּלָּת֔וֹ יָ֥לְדָה לּ֖וֹ אֶת־פֶּ֣רֶץ וְאֶת־זָ֑רַח כׇּל־בְּנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה חֲמִשָּֽׁה׃ {ס}
vetamar kallato yaledah lo et-perets ve'et-zarakh kol-bene yehudah khamisha
His daughter-in-law Tamar also bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah’s sons were five in all.
בְּנֵי־פֶ֖רֶץ חֶצְר֥וֹן וְחָמֽוּל׃ {ס}
bene-ferets khetsron vekhamul
The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.
וּבְנֵ֣י זֶ֗רַח זִ֠מְרִ֠י וְאֵיתָ֧ן וְהֵימָ֛ן וְכַלְכֹּ֥ל וָדָ֖רַע כֻּלָּ֥ם חֲמִשָּֽׁה׃ {ס}
uvene zerakh zimri ve'etan veheman vekhalkol vadara kullam khamisha
The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara, five in all.
וּבְנֵ֖י כַּרְמִ֑י עָכָר֙ עוֹכֵ֣ר יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר מָעַ֖ל בַּחֵֽרֶם׃ {ס}
uvene karmi akhar okher yisra'el asher ma'al bakherem
The sons of Carmi: Achar, the troubler of Israel, who committed a trespass against the proscribed thing;
וּבְנֵ֥י אֵיתָ֖ן עֲזַרְיָֽה׃ {ס}
uvene etan azaryah
and Ethan’s son was Azariah.
וּבְנֵ֥י חֶצְר֖וֹן אֲשֶׁ֣ר נֽוֹלַד־ל֑וֹ אֶת־יְרַחְמְאֵ֥ל וְאֶת־רָ֖ם וְאֶת־כְּלוּבָֽי׃
uvene khetsron asher nolad-lo et-yerakhme'el ve'et-ram ve'et-keluvay
The sons of Hezron that were born to him: Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai.
וְרָ֖ם הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־עַמִּֽינָדָ֑ב וְעַמִּֽינָדָב֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־נַחְשׁ֔וֹן נְשִׂ֖יא בְּנֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃
veram holid et-amminadav ve'amminadav holid et-nakhshon nesi bene yehudah
Ram begot Amminadab, and Amminadab begot Nahshon, prince of the sons of Judah.
וְנַחְשׁוֹן֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־שַׂלְמָ֔א וְשַׂלְמָ֖א הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־בֹּֽעַז׃
venakhshon holid et-salma vesalma holid et-bo'az
Nahshon was the father of Salma, Salma of Boaz,
וּבֹ֙עַז֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־עוֹבֵ֔ד וְעוֹבֵ֖ד הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־יִשָֽׁי׃
uvo'az holid et-oved ve'oved holid et-yishay
Boaz of Obed, Obed of Jesse.
וְאִישַׁ֛י הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־בְּכֹר֖וֹ אֶת־אֱלִיאָ֑ב וַאֲבִֽינָדָב֙ הַשֵּׁנִ֔י וְשִׁמְעָ֖א הַשְּׁלִשִֽׁי׃
ve'ishay holid et-bekhoro et-eli'av va'avinadav hasheni veshima hashelishi
Jesse begot Eliab his first-born, Abinadab the second, Shimea the third,
נְתַנְאֵל֙ הָרְבִיעִ֔י רַדַּ֖י הַחֲמִישִֽׁי׃
netanel harevi'i radday hakhamishi
Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,
אֹ֚צֶם הַשִּׁשִּׁ֔י דָּוִ֖יד הַשְּׁבִעִֽי׃
otsem hashishi david hashevi'i
Ozem the sixth, David the seventh;
וְאַחְיֹתֵיהֶ֖ם צְרוּיָ֣ה וַאֲבִיגָ֑יִל וּבְנֵ֣י צְרוּיָ֗ה אַבְשַׁ֛י וְיוֹאָ֥ב וַעֲשָׂהאֵ֖ל שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃
ve'akhyotehem tseruyah va'avigayil uvene tseruyah avshay veyo'av va'asahel sheloshah
their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel, three.
וַאֲבִיגַ֕יִל יָלְדָ֖ה אֶת־עֲמָשָׂ֑א וַאֲבִ֣י עֲמָשָׂ֔א יֶ֖תֶר הַיִּשְׁמְעֵאלִֽי׃
va'avigayil yaledah et-amasa va'avi amasa yeter hayyishme'eli
Abigail bore Amasa, and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite.
וְכָלֵ֣ב בֶּן־חֶצְר֗וֹן הוֹלִ֛יד אֶת־עֲזוּבָ֥ה אִשָּׁ֖ה וְאֶת־יְרִיע֑וֹת וְאֵ֣לֶּה בָנֶ֔יהָ יֵ֥שֶׁר וְשׁוֹבָ֖ב וְאַרְדּֽוֹן׃
vekhalev ben-khetsron holid et-azuvah isha ve'et-yeri'ot ve'elleh vaneha yesher veshovav ve'ardon
Caleb son of Hezron had children by his wife Azubah, and by Jerioth; these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.
וַתָּ֖מׇת עֲזוּבָ֑ה וַיִּֽקַּֽח־ל֤וֹ כָלֵב֙ אֶת־אֶפְרָ֔ת וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־חֽוּר׃
vattamot azuvah vayyiqqakh-lo khalev et-efrat vatteled lo et-khur
When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur.
וְחוּר֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־אוּרִ֔י וְאוּרִ֖י הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־בְּצַלְאֵֽל׃ {ס}
vekhur holid et-uri ve'uri holid et-betsalel
Hur begot Uri, and Uri begot Bezalel.
וְאַחַ֗ר בָּ֤א חֶצְרוֹן֙ אֶל־בַּת־מָכִיר֙ אֲבִ֣י גִלְעָ֔ד וְה֣וּא לְקָחָ֔הּ וְה֖וּא בֶּן־שִׁשִּׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־שְׂגֽוּב׃
ve'akhar ba khetsron el-bat-makhir avi gilad vehu leqakhah vehu ben-shishim shanah vatteled lo et-seguv
Afterward Hezron had relations with the daughter of Machir father of Gilead—he had married her when he was sixty years old—and she bore him Segub;
וּשְׂג֖וּב הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יָאִ֑יר וַֽיְהִי־ל֗וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וְשָׁלוֹשׁ֙ עָרִ֔ים בְּאֶ֖רֶץ הַגִּלְעָֽד׃ {ס}
useguv holid et-ya'ir vayehi-lo esrim veshalosh arim be'erets haggilad
and Segub begot Jair; he had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.
וַיִּקַּ֣ח גְּשֽׁוּר־וַ֠אֲרָ֠ם אֶת־חַוֺּ֨ת יָאִ֧יר מֵאִתָּ֛ם אֶת־קְנָ֥ת וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֶ֖יהָ שִׁשִּׁ֣ים עִ֑יר כׇּל־אֵ֕לֶּה בְּנֵ֖י מָכִ֥יר אֲבִֽי־גִלְעָֽד׃
vayyiqqakh geshur-va'aram et-khavvot ya'ir me'ittam et-qenat ve'et-benoteha shishim ir kol-elleh bene makhir avi-gilad
But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth-jair, Kenath and its dependencies, sixty towns. All these were the sons of Machir, the father of Gilead.
וְאַחַ֥ר מוֹת־חֶצְר֖וֹן בְּכָלֵ֣ב אֶפְרָ֑תָה וְאֵ֤שֶׁת חֶצְרוֹן֙ אֲבִיָּ֔ה וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ אֶת־אַשְׁח֖וּר אֲבִ֥י תְקֽוֹעַ׃ {ס}
ve'akhar mot-khetsron bekhalev efratah ve'eshet khetsron aviyyah vatteled lo et-ashkhur avi teqoa
After the death of Hezron, in Caleb-ephrathah, Abijah, wife of Hezron, bore Ashhur, the father of Tekoa.
וַיִּהְי֧וּ בְנֵי־יְרַחְמְאֵ֛ל בְּכ֥וֹר חֶצְר֖וֹן הַבְּכ֣וֹר ׀ רָ֑ם וּבוּנָ֥ה וָאֹ֛רֶן וָאֹ֖צֶם אֲחִיָּֽה׃
vayyihyu vene-yerakhme'el bekhor khetsron habbekhor ram uvunah va'oren va'otsem akhiyyah
The sons of Jerahmeel the first-born of Hezron: Ram his first-born, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.
וַתְּהִ֨י אִשָּׁ֥ה אַחֶ֛רֶת לִֽירַחְמְאֵ֖ל וּשְׁמָ֣הּ עֲטָרָ֑ה הִ֖יא אֵ֥ם אוֹנָֽם׃ {ס}
vattehi isha akheret lirakhme'el ushemah atarah hi em onam
Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
וַיִּהְי֥וּ בְנֵי־רָ֖ם בְּכ֣וֹר יְרַחְמְאֵ֑ל מַ֥עַץ וְיָמִ֖ין וָעֵֽקֶר׃
vayyihyu vene-ram bekhor yerakhme'el ma'ats veyamin va'eqer
The sons of Ram the first-born of Jerahmeel: Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.
וַיִּהְי֥וּ בְנֵי־אוֹנָ֖ם שַׁמַּ֣י וְיָדָ֑ע וּבְנֵ֣י שַׁמַּ֔י נָדָ֖ב וַאֲבִישֽׁוּר׃
vayyihyu vene-onam shammay veyada uvene shammay nadav va'avishur
The sons of Onam: Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur.
וְשֵׁ֛ם אֵ֥שֶׁת אֲבִישׁ֖וּר אֲבִיהָ֑יִל וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ אֶת־אַחְבָּ֖ן וְאֶת־מוֹלִֽיד׃
veshem eshet avishur avihayil vatteled lo et-akhban ve'et-molid
The name of Abishur’s wife was Abihail, and she bore him Ahban and Molid.
וּבְנֵ֥י נָדָ֖ב סֶ֣לֶד וְאַפָּ֑יִם וַיָּ֥מׇת סֶ֖לֶד לֹ֥א בָנִֽים׃
uvene nadav seled ve'appayim vayyamot seled lo vanim
The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim; Seled died childless.
וּבְנֵ֥י אַפַּ֖יִם יִשְׁעִ֑י וּבְנֵ֤י יִשְׁעִי֙ שֵׁשָׁ֔ן וּבְנֵ֥י שֵׁשָׁ֖ן אַחְלָֽי׃
uvene appayim yishi uvene yishi sheshan uvene sheshan akhlay
The sons of Appaim: Ishi. The sons of Ishi: Sheshan. The sons of Sheshan: Ahlai.
וּבְנֵ֤י יָדָע֙ אֲחִ֣י שַׁמַּ֔י יֶ֖תֶר וְיוֹנָתָ֑ן וַיָּ֥מׇת יֶ֖תֶר לֹ֥א בָנִֽים׃ {ס}
uvene yada akhi shammay yeter veyonatan vayyamot yeter lo vanim
The sons of Jada, Shammai’s brother: Jether and Jonathan; Jether died childless.
וּבְנֵ֥י יוֹנָתָ֖ן פֶּ֣לֶת וְזָזָ֑א אֵ֥לֶּה הָי֖וּ בְּנֵ֥י יְרַחְמְאֵֽל׃
uvene yonatan pelet vezaza elleh hayu bene yerakhme'el
The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the descendants of Jerahmeel.
וְלֹא־הָיָ֧ה לְשֵׁשָׁ֛ן בָּנִ֖ים כִּ֣י אִם־בָּנ֑וֹת וּלְשֵׁשָׁ֛ן עֶ֥בֶד מִצְרִ֖י וּשְׁמ֥וֹ יַרְחָֽע׃
velo-hayah lesheshan banim ki im-banot ulesheshan eved mitsri ushemo yarkha
Sheshan had no sons, only daughters; Sheshan had an Egyptian slave, whose name was Jarha.
וַיִּתֵּ֨ן שֵׁשָׁ֧ן אֶת־בִּתּ֛וֹ לְיַרְחָ֥ע עַבְדּ֖וֹ לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־עַתָּֽי׃
vayyitten sheshan et-bitto leyarkha avdo le'isha vatteled lo et-attay
So Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to Jarha his slave; and she bore him Attai.
וְעַתַּי֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־נָתָ֔ן וְנָתָ֖ן הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־זָבָֽד׃
ve'attay holid et-natan venatan holid et-zavad
Attai begot Nathan, and Nathan begot Zabad.
וְזָבָד֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־אֶפְלָ֔ל וְאֶפְלָ֖ל הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־עוֹבֵֽד׃
vezavad holid et-eflal ve'eflal holid et-oved
Zabad begot Ephlal, and Ephlal begot Obed.
וְעוֹבֵד֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יֵה֔וּא וְיֵה֖וּא הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־עֲזַרְיָֽה׃
ve'oved holid et-yehu veyehu holid et-azaryah
Obed begot Jehu, and Jehu begot Azariah.
וַֽעֲזַרְיָה֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־חָ֔לֶץ וְחֶ֖לֶץ הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־אֶלְעָשָֽׂה׃
va'azaryah holid et-khalets vekhelets holid et-elasah
Azariah begot Helez, and Helez begot Eleasah.
וְאֶלְעָשָׂה֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־סִֽסְמָ֔י וְסִסְמַ֖י הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־שַׁלּֽוּם׃
ve'elasah holid et-sismay vesismay holid et-shallum
Eleasah begot Sisamai, and Sisamai begot Shallum.
וְשַׁלּוּם֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יְקַמְיָ֔ה וִיקַמְיָ֖ה הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־אֱלִישָׁמָֽע׃ {ס}
veshallum holid et-yeqamyah viqamyah holid et-elishama
Shallum begot Jekamiah, and Jekamiah begot Elishama.
וּבְנֵ֤י כָלֵב֙ אֲחִ֣י יְרַחְמְאֵ֔ל מֵישָׁ֥ע בְּכֹר֖וֹ ה֣וּא אֲבִי־זִ֑יף וּבְנֵ֥י מָרֵשָׁ֖ה אֲבִ֥י חֶבְרֽוֹן׃
uvene khalev akhi yerakhme'el mesha bekhoro hu avi-zif uvene mareshah avi khevron
The sons of Caleb brother of Jerahmeel: Meshah his first-born, who was the father of Ziph. The sons of Mareshah father of Hebron.
וּבְנֵ֖י חֶבְר֑וֹן קֹ֥רַח וְתַפֻּ֖חַ וְרֶ֥קֶם וָשָֽׁמַע׃
uvene khevron qorakh vetappuakh vereqem vashama
The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.
וְשֶׁ֣מַע הוֹלִ֔יד אֶת־רַ֖חַם אֲבִ֣י יׇרְקְעָ֑ם וְרֶ֖קֶם הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־שַׁמָּֽי׃
veshema holid et-rakham avi yorqe'am vereqem holid et-shammay
Shema begot Raham the father of Jorkeam, and Rekem begot Shammai.
וּבֶן־שַׁמַּ֖י מָע֑וֹן וּמָע֖וֹן אֲבִ֥י בֵֽית־צֽוּר׃
uven-shammay ma'on uma'on avi vet-tsur
The son of Shammai: Maon, and Maon begot Bethzur.
וְעֵיפָה֙ פִּילֶ֣גֶשׁ כָּלֵ֔ב יָ֥לְדָ֛ה אֶת־חָרָ֥ן וְאֶת־מוֹצָ֖א וְאֶת־גָּזֵ֑ז וְחָרָ֖ן הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־גָּזֵֽז׃ {ס}
ve'efah pilegesh kalev yaledah et-kharan ve'et-motsa ve'et-gazez vekharan holid et-gazez
Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez; Haran begot Gazez.
וּבְנֵ֖י יׇהְדָּ֑י רֶ֧גֶם וְיוֹתָ֛ם וְגֵישָׁ֥ן וָפֶ֖לֶט וְעֵיפָ֥ה וָשָֽׁעַף׃
uvene yohday regem veyotam vegeshan vafelet ve'efah vasha'af
The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.
פִּילֶ֤גֶשׁ כָּלֵב֙ מַֽעֲכָ֔ה יָ֥לַד שֶׁ֖בֶר וְאֶֽת־תִּרְחֲנָֽה׃
pilegesh kalev ma'akhah yalad shever ve'et-tirkhanah
Maacah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Sheber and Tirhanah.
וַתֵּ֗לֶד שַׁ֚עַף אֲבִ֣י מַדְמַנָּ֔ה אֶת־שְׁוָ֛א אֲבִ֥י מַכְבֵּנָ֖ה וַאֲבִ֣י גִבְעָ֑א וּבַת־כָּלֵ֖ב עַכְסָֽה׃ {ס}
vatteled sha'af avi madmannah et-sheva avi makhbenah va'avi giva uvat-kalev akhsah
She also bore Shaaph father of Madmannah, Sheva father of Machbenah and father of Gibea; the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.
אֵ֤לֶּה הָיוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י כָלֵ֔ב בֶּן־ח֖וּר בְּכ֣וֹר אֶפְרָ֑תָה שׁוֹבָ֕ל אֲבִ֖י קִרְיַ֥ת יְעָרִֽים׃
elleh hayu bene khalev ben-khur bekhor efratah shoval avi qiryat ye'arim
These were the descendants of Caleb. The sons of Hur the first-born of Ephrathah: Shobal father of Kiriath-jearim,
שַׂלְמָא֙ אֲבִ֣י בֵֽית־לָ֔חֶם חָרֵ֖ף אֲבִ֥י בֵית־גָּדֵֽר׃
salma avi vet-lakhem kharef avi vet-gader
Salma father of Bethlehem, Hareph father of Beth-gader.
וַיִּהְי֤וּ בָנִים֙ לְשׁוֹבָ֔ל אֲבִ֖י קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֑ים הָרֹאֶ֖ה חֲצִ֥י הַמְּנֻחֽוֹת׃
vayyihyu vanim leshoval avi qiryat ye'arim haro'eh khatsi hammenukhot
Shobal father of Kiriath-jearim had sons: Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth.
וּמִשְׁפְּחוֹת֙ קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֔ים הַיִּתְרִי֙ וְהַפּוּתִ֔י וְהַשֻּׁמָתִ֖י וְהַמִּשְׁרָעִ֑י מֵאֵ֗לֶּה יָֽצְאוּ֙ הַצָּ֣רְעָתִ֔י וְהָאֶשְׁתָּ֖אֻֽלִֽי׃ {ס}
umishpekhot qiryat ye'arim hayyitri vehapputi vehashumati vehammishra'i me'elleh yatse'u hatsare'ati veha'eshta'uli
And the families of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; from these came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites.
בְּנֵ֣י שַׂלְמָ֗א בֵּ֥ית לֶ֙חֶם֙ וּנְט֣וֹפָתִ֔י עַטְר֖וֹת בֵּ֣ית יוֹאָ֑ב וַחֲצִ֥י הַמָּנַחְתִּ֖י הַצׇּרְעִֽי׃
bene salma bet lekhem unetofati atrot bet yo'av vakhatsi hammanakhti hatsori
The sons of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites.
וּמִשְׁפְּח֤וֹת סֹֽפְרִים֙ (ישבו) [יֹשְׁבֵ֣י] יַעְבֵּ֔ץ תִּרְעָתִ֥ים שִׁמְעָתִ֖ים שׂוּכָתִ֑ים הֵ֚מָּה הַקִּינִ֣ים הַבָּאִ֔ים מֵחַמַּ֖ת אֲבִ֥י בֵית־רֵכָֽב׃ {ס}
umishpekhot soferim (yshvv) [yosheve] yabets tiratim shimatim sukhatim hemmah haqqinim habba'im mekhammat avi vet-rekhav
The families of the scribes that dwelt at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, the Sucathites; these are the Kenites who came from Hammath, father of the house of Rechab.
