bene levi gereshom qehat umerari

The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

ve'elleh shemot bene-gereshom livni veshimi

And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

uvene qehat amram veyitshar vekhevron ve'uzzi'el

The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

bene merari makhli umushi ve'elleh mishpekhot hallevi la'avotehem

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These were the families of the Levites according to their clans.

legereshom livni veno yakhat beno zimmah veno

Of Gershom: his son Libni, his son Jahath, his son Zimmah,

yo'akh beno iddo veno zerakh beno ye'otray beno

his son Joah, his son Iddo, his son Zerah, his son Jeatherai.

bene qehat amminadav beno qorakh beno assir beno

The sons of Kohath: his son Amminadab, his son Korah, his son Assir,

elqanah veno ve'evyasaf beno ve'assir beno

his son Elkanah, his son Ebiasaph, his son Assir,

takhat beno uri'el beno uzziyyah veno vesha'ul beno

his son Tahath, his son Uriel, his son Uzziah, and his son Shaul.

uvene elqanah amasay va'akhimot

The sons of Elkanah: Amasai and Ahimoth,

elqanah (vnv) [bene] elqanah tsofay beno venakhat beno

his son Elkanah, his son Zophai, his son Nahath,

eli'av beno yerokham beno elqanah veno

his son Eliab, his son Jeroham, his son Elkanah.

uvene shemu'el habbekhor vasheni va'aviyyah

The sons of Samuel: his first-born Vashni, and Abijah.

bene merari makhli livni veno shimi veno uzzah veno

The sons of Merari: Mahli, his son Libni, his son Shimei, his son Uzzah,

shima veno khaggiyyah veno asayah veno

his son Shimea, his son Haggiah, and his son Asaiah.

ve'elleh asher he'emid david al-yede-shir bet Adonai mimmenoakh ha'aron

These were appointed by David to be in charge of song in the House of GOD, from the time the Ark came to rest.

vayyihyu mesharetim lifne mishkan ohel-mo'ed bashir ad-benot shelomoh et-bet Adonai birushalai͏m vayya'amdu khemishpatam al-avodatam

They served at the Tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting with song until Solomon built the House of GOD in Jerusalem; and they carried out their duties as prescribed for them.

ve'elleh ha'omedim uvenehem mibbene haqqehati heman hameshorer ben-yo'el ben-shemu'el

Those were the appointed ones; and their sons were: the Kohathites: Heman the singer, son of Joel son of Samuel

ben-elqanah ben-yerokham ben-eli'el ben-toakh

son of Elkanah son of Jeroham son of Eliel son of Toah

ben-[tsuf] (tsyf) ben-elqanah ben-makhat ben-amasay

son of Zuph son of Elkanah son of Mahath son of Amasai

ben-elqanah ben-yo'el ben-azaryah ben-tsefanyah

son of Elkanah son of Joel son of Azariah son of Zephaniah

ben-takhat ben-assir ben-evyasaf ben-qorakh

son of Tahath son of Assir son of Ebiasaph son of Korah

ben-yitshar ben-qehat ben-levi ben-yisra'el

son of Izhar son of Kohath son of Levi son of Israel;

ve'akhiv asaf ha'omed al-yemino asaf ben-berekhyahu ben-shima

and his kinsman Asaph, who stood on his right, namely, Asaph son of Berechiah son of Shimea

ben-mikha'el ben-ba'aseyah ben-malkiyyah

son of Michael son of Baaseiah son of Malchijah

ben-etni ven-zerakh ben-adayah

son of Ethni son of Zerah son of Adaiah

ben-etan ben-zimmah ben-shimi

son of Ethan son of Zimmah son of Shimei

ben-yakhat ben-gereshom ben-levi

son of Jahath son of Gershom son of Levi.

uvene merari akhehem al-hassemovl etan ben-qishi ben-avdi ben-mallukh

On the left were their kindred: the sons of Merari: Ethan son of Kishi son of Abdi son of Malluch

ben-khashavyah ven-amatsyah ben-khilqiyyah

son of Hashabiah son of Amaziah son of Hilkiah

ben-amtsi ven-bani ben-shamer

son of Amzi son of Bani son of Shemer

ben-makhli ben-mushi ben-merari ben-levi

son of Mahli son of Mushi son of Merari son of Levi;

va'akhehem haleviyyim netunim lekhol-avodat mishkan bet ha'elohim

and their kindred the Levites were appointed for all the service of the Tabernacle of the House of God.

ve'aharon uvanayw maqtirim al-mizbakh ha'olah ve'al-mizbakh haqqetoret lekhol melekhet qodesh haqqodashim ulekhapper al-yisra'el kekhol asher tsivvah mosheh eved ha'elohim

But Aaron and his sons made offerings upon the altar of burnt offering and upon the altar of incense, performing all the tasks of the most holy place, to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

ve'elleh bene aharon elazar beno pinekhas beno avishua beno

These are the sons of Aaron: his son Eleazar, his son Phinehas, his son Abishua,

buqqi veno uzzi veno zerakhyah veno

his son Bukki, his son Uzzi, his son Zerahiah,

merayot beno amaryah veno akhituv beno

his son Meraioth, his son Amariah, his son Ahitub,

tsadoq beno akhima'ats beno

his son Zadok, his son Ahimaaz.

ve'elleh moshevotam letirotam bigvulam livne aharon lemishpakhat haqqehati ki lahem hayah haggoral

These are their dwelling-places according to their settlements within their borders: to the sons of Aaron of the families of Kohathites, for theirs was the [first] lot;

vayyittenu lahem et-khevron be'erets yehudah ve'et-migrasheha sevivoteha

they gave them Hebron in the land of Judah and its surrounding pasturelands,

ve'et-sedeh ha'ir ve'et-khatsereha natenu lekhalev ben-yefunneh

but the fields of the city and its villages they gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh.

velivne aharon natenu et-are hammiqlat et-khevron ve'et-livnah ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-yattir ve'et-eshtemoa ve'et-migrasheha

To the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge: Hebron and Libnah with its pasturelands, Jattir and Eshtemoa with its pasturelands,

ve'et-khilez ve'et-migrasheha et-devir ve'et-migrasheha

Hilen with its pasturelands, Debir with its pasturelands,

ve'et-ashan ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-bet shemesh ve'et-migrasheha

Ashan with its pasturelands, and Beth-shemesh with its pasturelands.

umimmatteh vinyamin et-geva ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-alemet ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-anatot ve'et-migrasheha kol-arehem shelosh-esreh ir bemishpekhotehem

From the tribe of Benjamin, Geba with its pasturelands, Alemeth with its pasturelands, and Anathoth with its pasturelands. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen.

velivne qehat hannotarim mimmishpakhat hammatteh mimmakhatsit matteh khatsi menasheh baggoral arim aser

To the remaining Kohathites were given by lot out of the family of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities.

velivne gereshom lemishpekhotam mimmatteh yissashkhar umimmatteh asher umimmatteh naftali umimmatteh menasheh babbashan arim shelosh esreh

To the Gershomites according to their families were allotted thirteen cities out of the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and Manasseh in Bashan.

livne merari lemishpekhotam mimmatteh re'uven umimmatteh-gad umimmatteh zevulun baggoral arim shetem esreh

To the Merarites according to their families were allotted twelve cities out of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.

vayyittenu vene-yisra'el lalviyyim et-he'arim ve'et-migreshehem

So the people of Israel gave the Levites the cities with their pasturelands.

vayyittenu vaggoral mimmatteh vene-yehudah umimmatteh vene-shimon umimmatteh bene vinyamin et he'arim ha'elleh asher-yiqre'u ethem beshemot

They gave them by lot out of the tribe of the Judahites these cities that are mentioned by name, and out of the tribe of the Simeonites, and out of the tribe of the Benjaminites.

umimmishpekhot bene qehat vayehi are gevulam mimmatteh efrayim

And some of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their territory out of the tribe of Ephraim.

vayyittenu lahem et-are hammiqlat et-shekhem ve'et-migrasheha behar efrayim ve'et-gezer ve'et-migrasheha

They gave them the cities of refuge: Shechem with its pasturelands in the hill country of Ephraim, Gezer with its pasturelands,

ve'et-yoqme'am ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-bet khoron ve'et-migrasheha

Jokmeam with its pasturelands, Beth-horon with its pasturelands,

ve'et-ayyalon ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-gat-rimmon ve'et-migrasheha

Aijalon with its pasturelands, Gath-rimmon with its pasturelands;

umimmakhatsit matteh menasheh et-aner ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-bilam ve'et-migrasheha lemishpakhat livne-qehat hannotarim

and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Aner with its pasturelands, and Bileam with its pasturelands, for the rest of the families of the Kohathites.

livne gereshom mimmishpakhat khatsi matteh menasheh et-golan babbashan ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-ashtarot ve'et-migrasheha

To the Gershomites; out of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan with its pasturelands and Ashtaroth with its pasturelands;

umimmatteh yissashkhar et-qedesh ve'et-migrasheha et-daverat ve'et-migrasheha

and out of the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh with its pasturelands, Dobrath with its pasturelands,

ve'et-ramot ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-anem ve'et-migrasheha

Ramoth with its pasturelands, and Anem with its pasturelands;

umimmatteh asher et-mashal ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-avdon ve'et-migrasheha

out of the tribe of Asher: Mashal with its pasturelands, Abdon with its pasturelands,

ve'et-khuqoq ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-rekhov ve'et-migrasheha

Hukok with its pasturelands, and Rehob with its pasturelands;

umimmatteh naftali et-qedesh baggalil ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-khammon ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-qiryatayim ve'et-migrasheha

and out of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee with its pasturelands; Hammon with its pasturelands, and Kiriathaim with its pasturelands.

livne merari hannotarim mimmatteh zevulun et-rimmono ve'et-migrasheha et-tavor ve'et-migrasheha

To the rest of the Merarites, out of the tribe of Zebulun: Rimmono with its pasturelands, Tabor with its pasturelands;

ume'ever leyarden yerekho lemizrakh hayyarden mimmatteh re'uven et-betser bammidbar ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-yahtsah ve'et-migrasheha

and beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, out of the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness with its pasturelands, Jahaz with its pasturelands,

ve'et-qedemot ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-mefa'at ve'et-migrasheha

Kedemoth with its pasturelands, and Mephaath with its pasturelands;

umimmatteh-gad et-ramot baggilad ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-makhanayim ve'et-migrasheha

and out of the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead with its pasturelands, Mahanaim with its pasturelands,

ve'et-kheshbon ve'et-migrasheha ve'et-yazer ve'et-migrasheha

Heshbon with its pasturelands, and Jazer with its pasturelands.
