Psalms 2

lammah rageshu goyim ule'ummim yehgu-riq

Why do nations assemble, and peoples plot vain things;

yityatsevu malkhe-erets verozenim nosedu-yakhad al-Adonai ve'al-meshikho

kings of the earth take their stand, and regents intrigue together against the one anointed by GOD?

nenatteqah et-moserotemo venashlikhah mimmennu avotemo

“Let us break the cords of their yoke, shake off their ropes from us!”

yoshev bashamayim yiskhaq adonay yilag-lamo

The One who is enthroned in heaven laughs; my Sovereign mocks at them.

az yedabber elemo ve'appo uvakharono yevahalemo

Then [God] speaks to them in anger, terrifying them with divine rage,

va'ani nasakhti malki al-tsiyyon har-qodshi

“But I have installed My king on Zion, My holy mountain!”

asapperah el-khoq Adonai amar-elay beni attah ani hayyom yelidtikha

Let me tell of the decree: GOD said to me, “You are My son, I have fathered you this day.

she'al mimmenni ve'ettenah goyim nakhalatekha va'akhuzzatekha afse-arets

Ask it of Me, and I will make the nations your domain; your estate, the limits of the earth.

tero'em beshevet barzel kikhli yotser tenappetsem

You can smash them with an iron mace, shatter them like potter’s ware.”

ve'attah melakhim haskilu hivvaseru shofete arets

So now, O kings, be prudent; accept discipline, you rulers of the earth!

ivdu et-Adonai beyirah vegilu biradah

Serve GOD in awe; tremble with fright,

nashequ-var pen-ye'enaf vetovedu derekh ki-yivar kimat appo ashre kol-khose vo

pay homage in good faith, lest [God] be angered, and your way be doomed in the mere flash of divine anger. Happy are all who take refuge in [God].
