שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת אֵ֭לֶיךָ נָשָׂ֣אתִי אֶת־עֵינַ֑י הַ֝יֹּשְׁבִ֗י בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם׃
shir hamma'alot elekha nasati et-enay hayyoshevi bashamayim
A song of ascents. To You, enthroned in heaven, I turn my eyes.
הִנֵּ֨ה כְעֵינֵ֪י עֲבָדִ֡ים אֶל־יַ֤ד אֲֽדוֹנֵיהֶ֗ם כְּעֵינֵ֣י שִׁפְחָה֮ אֶל־יַ֢ד גְּבִ֫רְתָּ֥הּ כֵּ֣ן עֵ֭ינֵינוּ אֶל־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ עַ֝֗ד שֶׁיְּחׇנֵּֽנוּ׃
hinneh khe'ene avadim el-yad adonehem ke'ene shifkhah el-yad gevirtah ken enenu el-Adonai elohenu ad sheyyekhonnenu
As the eyes of servants follow their master’s hand, as the eyes of a maid follow the hand of her mistress, so our eyes are toward the ETERNAL our God, awaiting divine favor.
חׇנֵּ֣נוּ יְהֹוָ֣ה חׇנֵּ֑נוּ כִּי־רַ֝֗ב שָׂבַ֥עְנוּ בֽוּז׃
khonnenu Adonai khonnenu ki-rav savanu vuz
Show us favor, O ETERNAL One, show us favor! We have had more than enough of contempt.
רַבַּת֮ שָֽׂבְעָה־לָּ֢הּ נַ֫פְשֵׁ֥נוּ הַלַּ֥עַג הַשַּֽׁאֲנַנִּ֑ים הַ֝בּ֗וּז (לגאיונים) [לִגְאֵ֥י יוֹנִֽים]׃ {פ}
rabbat save'ah-llah nafshenu halla'ag hasha'anannim habbuz (lgyvnym) [lige yonim]
Long enough have we endured the scorn of the complacent, the contempt of the haughty.
