שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת בְּשׁ֣וּב יְ֭הֹוָה אֶת־שִׁיבַ֣ת צִיּ֑וֹן הָ֝יִ֗ינוּ כְּחֹלְמִֽים׃
shir hamma'alot beshuv Adonai et-shivat tsiyyon hayinu kekholemim
A song of ascents. When GOD restores the fortunes of Zion —we see it as in a dream—
אָ֤ז יִמָּלֵ֪א שְׂח֡וֹק פִּינוּ֮ וּלְשׁוֹנֵ֢נוּ רִ֫נָּ֥ה אָ֭ז יֹאמְר֣וּ בַגּוֹיִ֑ם הִגְדִּ֥יל יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת עִם־אֵֽלֶּה׃
az yimmale sekhoq pinu uleshonenu rinnah az yomeru vaggoyim higdil Adonai la'asot im-elleh
our mouths shall be filled with laughter, our tongues, with songs of joy. Then shall they say among the nations, “GOD has done great things for them!”
הִגְדִּ֣יל יְ֭הֹוָה לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת עִמָּ֗נוּ הָיִ֥ינוּ שְׂמֵחִֽים׃
higdil Adonai la'asot immanu hayinu semekhim
GOD will do great things for us and we shall rejoice.
שׁוּבָ֣ה יְ֭הֹוָה אֶת־[שְׁבִיתֵ֑נוּ] (שבותנו) כַּאֲפִיקִ֥ים בַּנֶּֽגֶב׃
shuvah Adonai et-[shevitenu] (shvvtnv) ka'afiqim bannegev
Restore our fortunes, O ETERNAL One, like watercourses in the Negeb.
הַזֹּרְעִ֥ים בְּדִמְעָ֗ה בְּרִנָּ֥ה יִקְצֹֽרוּ׃
hazzore'im bedimah berinnah yiqtsoru
They who sow in tears shall reap with songs of joy.
הָ֘ל֤וֹךְ יֵלֵ֨ךְ ׀ וּבָכֹה֮ נֹשֵׂ֢א מֶשֶׁךְ־הַ֫זָּ֥רַע בֹּא־יָבֹ֥א בְרִנָּ֑ה נֹ֝שֵׂ֗א אֲלֻמֹּתָֽיו׃ {פ}
halokh yelekh uvakhoh nose meshekh-hazzara bo-yavo verinnah nose alummotayw
One who goes along weeping, carrying the seed-bag, shall come back with songs of joy, carrying the sheaves.
