Why it stays this time
The words come back the next day
Each word you meet returns the day after in a short review, then again a few days later. Coming back to a word just as it starts to fade is one of the best-supported ways to keep it.
You answer from memory
The English appears once, when the word is new. After that every answer is yours: pick the picture, build the word from its letters, say it out loud.
The words are the words of real verses
Each verse was chosen first and its unit built backward from it, prefixes and verb forms included. You read the verse at the end, and every word in it is one you learned.
Unit 1 ends in Genesis 25:34
Four lessons of about ten minutes. After them you read this verse with every word known, and the next units end in Genesis 1:1, Genesis 28:11 and Genesis 28:18.
וְיַעֲקֹב נָתַן לְעֵשָׂו לֶחֶם וּנְזִיד עֲדָשִׁים וַיֹּאכַל וַיֵּשְׁתְּ וַיָּקָם וַיֵּלַךְ וַיִּבֶז עֵשָׂו אֶת־הַבְּכֹרָה׃
And Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew; and he ate and drank, and got up and went. And Esau despised the birthright.
Who made it

I am Yaacov. I was born in Jerusalem and grew up reading these texts in Hebrew. Many of my students are Christians who want to read the Bible in Hebrew. My job is the language: to make it clear and to give you the practice to keep it.
